LOVE IS THE GREATEST GIFT
Paul shares the love of God with the people. He speaks about love being the greatest gift. We have heard these words before, but unfortunately, many of us have not yet applied them to our lives. Of all the things we thank God for, and there are many, His unconditional love should be at the top of our list. It is utterly amazing how God loves each and every one of us! We are called to love others as God loves us. It is impossible to love God, whom we have not seen, but not love those we see every day. Love is also the driving force for forgiveness. Remember, God loved us before we loved Him. Moreover, God loves us even when we don’t love him! In 1 Corinthians 13:13, we find these words:
“Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.”
Paul makes it clear, in verses 4-7 that “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” Paul knows that God’s love will last forever, and it is the greatest gift. I pray today, that each of us have come to know the gift of God’s love, and we can love others the way God loves us. Take a moment to thank God for His amazing love, then ask Him for the strength to love others as He loves us
