While I was preparing this devotion, I thought of a story in the gospel where Jesus offered a woman living water. She went to the well to draw water, but instead received water that would not only quench her thirst, but quench her soul. Thank God today for living water. In Jeremiah 2:13, we find these words:

“For my people have done two evil things: They have abandoned me – the fountain of living water. And they have dug for themselves cracked cisterns that can hold no water at all.”

The people turned away from the Lord and began worshipping idols. They turned their back on the real substance of life. We must remember that whatever we do in life, we cannot abandon the living water! It is the only thing that will last. Drink from the fountain that never runs dry!
