As God’s people, we are called upon to live in Christ. I remember growing up and attending Sunday School, I asked the teacher, “What is a Christian?” She responded that a Christian is someone who behaves Christ like. I have never forgotten those words because I believe our lives should reflect that we are truly living a life for Christ. Therefore, we cannot do everything the world does. It does not mean that we are perfect, but that we are striving every day to be like Christ. Our scripture reference is Colossians 2:6 and reads:

“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him.”

In this moving passage of scripture, Paul declares that we need to apply practical application to our lives. Paul has deep concern for spiritual development as he follows Christ. He appeals to the Colossians to hold fast to the teachings of Christ as they have received it. They are to walk in a way that honors the Lord. They are called to maintain personal fellowship with the Christ they have received. They need to be grounded in their faith as they were taught giving thanksgiving to the One who has saved them. They are taught to be humble and grateful and to live a life pleasing unto Him. It is my fervent prayer today, that as we receive Christ we might live in Christ and that He might get the glory out of our lives daily.
