Live a Quiet Life
The Word of God speaks to us about the importance of living a simplistic life. It is unfortunate that too many people spend their energy seeking happiness in life. Their busy lives are too complex as they seek fulfillment and life’s meaning. They become engaged in the affairs of others and become preoccupied with things that have no bearing upon their own personal life. Some people take delight and spend countless hours comparing their lives to others, judging others, and trying to live like other people. Once we discover the importance of living a simple life, our lives can have fulfillment and meaning. We read these words in 1 Thessalonians 4:11:
“Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before.”
These words are practical and have much meaning. A close examination of these words that speak clearly about relationships gives us a blueprint for living. This type of life is lived through prayer, meditating on the scriptures and fasting. Look inside yourself and see God’s love working in you. Open your heart and hands to help others. True fulfillment comes when we give to those who have little. Jesus spent time praying to the Father and helping others. It is my prayer that we look to Jesus for a fulfilled life. There you will find joy, peace, happiness, and love.
