Our lives should be lived in such a way that they please God. We cannot do anything of our own, therefore we should live lives that are connected to the Lord.   Our lives should be marked with kindness, gentleness, meekness, love, and humility.  These are the characteristics we should display in our daily lives.  Let me be clear — none of us are perfect.   But if we strive to live in a way that continuously seeks to please God, then we are doing our best to live up to our commitment, and God will be pleased. In 1 Timothy 2:2, we find these words:

“Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.”

Paul is writing to Timothy, providing him guidance for worship. He wants Timothy to pray so that everyone can live peaceful and quiet lives. In 1 Timothy 2:5-6, he wants them to understand that “There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity — the man Christ Jesus.  He gave His life to purchase freedom for everyone.” This is the guidance that we should live by today. Christ died for our sins; therefore, we should live our lives in a way that pleases Him.
