LIVE A HUMBLE LIFE
I have shared more than once in these devotions that I have a sign in my office that reads, “Work hard. Be kind. Stay humble.” I believe that humility is hard to come by today. Unfortunately, many people believe that humility is a weakness, but that is far from the truth. God will bless those who are humble. We are called to live a life of humility; God will elevate us in due time. Remember, all that we have comes from God, and all we will ever be is because of God. He deserves all the glory and honor. Don’t allow ego and pride to get in the way but live a humble life. In Philippians 2:3, we find these words:
“Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.”
Paul speaks to his fellow believers about having the attitude of Christ. He wants them to be tender-hearted and compassionate so that they will experience the blessings that come from loving each other and working with each other. His entire message to them is to remain humble and not to think of themselves as better than anyone else. They should not look out for their own interest but be concerned about the interest of others. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, we will all live a life of humility.
