Listen To Jesus

Whenever the Lord speaks, we must always be willing to listen to His voice and move at His command. Let me add, there are times when He will speak that we may question what He is asking us to do. However, we must remember that His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). He performs miracles that we cannot imagine. He gives us commands to follow, even when we have no idea how to do what He has commanded us to do. In Matthew 14:16, we find these words:

“But Jesus said, ‘That isn’t necessary—you feed them.’”

This story tells of the feeding of the multitude that had gathered to hear the Master. They were hungry, but there was not enough food available. The disciples told Jesus that the people needed to be sent away so that they could go feed themselves, but Jesus told the disciples, in verse 16, to feed them. The disciples explained that they only had 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread. Jesus then told the disciples to bring the food items to Him. Read the story to see how the Master used these limited resources to feed the multitude. May we be strengthened, today, with the knowledge and the faith to trust Him. Always remember that when He gives us a vision, He has already made provisions. He can do anything. Listen to His voice and all His people will be blessed.
