We must always be willing to listen to God. Many voices are seeking to
claim our attention, but we must always have a heart to hear the word of God and to respond when He speaks. We must be willing to listen and to obey.
When God speaks, we cannot ignore Him. When He speaks to us, He will
give us discernment. I would argue strongly that many of us find ourselves
in difficult situations because we refuse to listen to God. We listen to the
voice of others. We have to remember that the devil also speaks. We must discern God’s voice in order to do what God Has called us to do.

In Acts 5:29, we find these words:

But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.”

Peter and his fellow believers were given strict orders never to teach in the name of Jesus. They were arrested, and brought before the high council — the full assembly of the elders of Israel. Peter responded to them, telling them that they listened to God rather than human authority. They were not fearful. They stood on the side of the Lord. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, in every situation, we will all listen to God.
