When we say that we trust in the Lord, it must be seen by the way we live. We cannot say that we truly trust in the Lord without giving evidence. Trust is an action word. When we are faced with trials and troubles, our trust is put to a test. The way we carry out the Lord’s commands is another indication of our trust in Him. How we glorify His name by living holy lives demonstrates to the world that our trust is in God. I love the lyrics of the song, “I will trust in the Lord until I die.” We will serve and honor Him for the rest of our lives. Isaiah 26:8 is our scriptural text today.

“Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name.”

The prophet Isaiah declares throughout this chapter the praises of our God. This psalm of thanksgiving and faith speaks of the trust that the prophet has for the Lord. His loyalty to the Lord is seen in the manner in which he carries out the Lord’s command. His love of the Lord is made known by the praises Isaiah offers up to God. With his whole heart and soul, he lifts up the name of the Lord. He knows that God will keep him in perfect peace because his mind is stayed on him. He is committed to live a life worthy of praise unto God. I pray that you are living a life that demonstrates your deep and abiding trust in the Lord; that you carry out His commands, and give Him glory throughout the day and night.
