LET THE WORLD KNOW WHAT HE HAS DONE

If you have ever been part of our early Morning Prayer line, you will discover we begin by sharing our testimonies. In fact, when I’m hosting the prayer line I begin at 6:20 a.m. providing the callers time to share what the Lord has done. I think it is so important, even prior to our praying, that we look back over our lives and see what the Lord has already done. I call this a frame of reference. Many of us know beyond a shadow of doubt that the Lord can open doors that have been closed and make a way out of no way. Consequently, not only do we want to give Him praise, but we also want the whole world to know what the Lord has done. The psalmist as he wrote did not have a prayer line, but he had a heart of gratitude and was always acknowledging God’s goodness. In fact, our scripture lesson today centers around the psalmist calling upon the people of God to declare His goodness. In Psalm 105:1, we find these words:

“Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.”

The psalmist declares the goodness of the Lord and calls upon the people to offer thanksgiving and praise. He tells them to make known the Lord’s mighty acts and to declare His goodness by singing songs of praise unto Him. He has a heart filled with gratitude and he wants the congregation to call on the mighty name of the Lord. Throughout this Psalm, the psalmist acknowledges what the Lord has done. He tells the people to remember His miraculous works. It is my prayer today you will shout, sing, testify, pray, and declare the goodness of the Lord. Open your mouth and speak with thanksgiving as you acknowledge what the Lord has done. You can do this with your family, your friends, your neighbors, on your job, in your congregation, with those who are unsaved, and on the prayer line, letting the whole wide world know what the Lord Almighty has done.
