LET THE LORD GUIDE YOU
Today’s devotion extends an invitation. Simply stated, the invitation is, “Let the Lord Guide You.” When we allow the Lord to direct our path, He will perform wonders in our lives. I am a witness to what can happen when God takes control of your life. He gives us joy, peace, and fulfillment. Once we walked in darkness, but now we have seen a great light and that light leads us in the right direction. We cannot go wrong when we allow the Lord to guide every step of our lives. We must be open to follow Him because He knows the path we should take. In Proverbs 3:6, we find these words:
“Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
The author speaks about the need to trust in the Lord. In verses 1 and 2 he says, “My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying …” In verse 4 he says, “Then you will find favor with both God and God’s people…” And in verse 5 he says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” And now, we have the invitation. We are to seek His will in all that we do, and let the Lord guide us. In verse 7 we find that we should never “be impressed with [our] own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn from evil…” It is my prayer, today, that we are all letting God guide our lives. Being led by God is a wonderful way to live!
