God’s ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Consequently, we all need God’s guidance. We must be willing to let God guide us and to instruct us so that we might carry out His plans for our lives. He knows the plans He has for us— to do good and to prosper. In order for them to come to fruition, we must follow His instructions. God does not force His way into our lives. He has given us a free will. We can decide to follow instructions, or we can decide to ignore them. Prayerfully, you have decided to follow the Lord’s instructions and say, “Where He leads me, I will follow.” Psalm 32:8 is our reference today.

“The Lord says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.

I will advise you and watch over you.’”

In this moving passage of scripture, the psalmist is confident that the Lord will guide Him. He begins this psalm by acknowledging the joys of those who follow the Lord. He is grateful that the Lord has cleansed the people from all guilt and shame. The psalmist is willing to trust the Lord to guide his every step. He wants God’s people to know that the Lord is watching over them. He wants the people to follow the Lord’s instructions and warns them of the sorrows that come to those who fail to heed the Lord’s instructions. Pay attention to the psalmist’s words. Follow them, for they will lead you to a bountiful journey. You cannot go wrong when you follow the Lord’s instructions.
