LET GOD BE THE JUDGE

Prayerfully, today’s devotion will help us in our daily life. We are not called to judge anybody. God is the final judge. I would argue strongly that this devotion is one that everybody needs to read. The truth of the matter is, we, have far too many people who are quick to judge or criticize others. Most of the time the judgement is harsh, or cold and at times those who are doing the judging can become self-righteous. But God is the final judge. We have not been called to judge, but to love our brothers and sisters. When we can understand this, then we will be able to recognize that we need to let God be the judge. He sits on the throne, and He is always there to extend grace and mercy. In James 4:12, we find these words:

“God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?”

The warning about judging others is found in this passage of scripture. And in verse eleven, we find these words: “Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you.”  James goes on to say that God alone who gave the law is the Judge. We have no right to judge our neighbor or anyone else. Judgement is God’s job – and it is His job alone! When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, it will help us all remember to let God be the Judge!
