Today’s devotion provides us with the knowledge that when life’s problems get heavy, all we need to do is to lean on the Lord. When we lean on Him, we will find the strength we need regardless of what life brings to us. The Lord is strong and mighty. We can count on Him. Can you recall the life’s moments when you had to lean on Him? I know for myself; I cannot count the times when I had to put my trust in Him. The blessing is that He has always been there. When I could not find my way, He was there. During the darkest times in my life, He was there. He has been there through sickness, death and hard times.  I am filled up even now as I write, because I vividly remember how I have had to call on Him over and over. I am also reminded that it is always about the Lord. Look at Psalm 52:8 that reads:

“But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God.  I will always trust in God’s unfailing love.”

The psalmist makes known his trust in God. In this psalm, he writes, “the righteous will see and fear the Lord.” While others might laugh at him, he thinks not of himself, but of God’s mercy. He is like a rich and blessed green olive tree in the house of God. He thanks God for how he has been blessed. In verse nine, he writes, “I will praise thee forever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.” He does not pay attention to his enemies, but focuses on the blessings that come by leaning on the Lord. I close with these words; it is good to lean on the Lord.  In fact, it is mighty good to lean on the Lord.  May we all find the strength we need when we lean on Him. As the songwriter said, “I am leaning on the everlasting arms of the Lord.”
