Today’s devotion speaks clearly of the need to keep on moving. Do not let anything stop you from moving forward. Let me be as open and honest as I can be as I pen these words. Life’s problems can cause us to get weary. At times, we can feel like throwing in the towel. We find ourselves exhausted and no longer want to continue to move on. Nevertheless, we can never, ever drop out of the race, for the race is not given to the swift, but to those who endure to the end. This Christian Race is a long, tedious journey. We must be willing to go onward and upward to reach the goal line. It is my prayer today, that as you read this devotion, and find yourself about ready to quit, you will gaze upon the words of the psalmist. In Psalm 6:6, the psalmist writes these words:

“I am worn out from sobbing. All night I flood my bed with weeping, drenching it with my tears.”

The psalmist is honest about his current state. His heart is heavy and he cries to the Lord for deliverance. He is faced with enemies who have tormented him. His eyes are filled with tears. However, he presses his way.  He knows that the Lord is his helper. So, he says, ‘Return oh Lord and rescue me.” He wants to continue by giving his life to God. The psalmist knows that he cannot stop for God has been too good to him.  He has discovered the grace and mercy of God. Although his heart is heavy and his trials are many, he is not willing to give up, but keep on moving because God has sustained him. I pray that whatever you are dealing with, God will sustain you and you will keep on moving.
