Early one morning, I had the opportunity to speak to one of God’s faithful servants. He was dealing with pain in his legs that prevented him from moving about as he always has done. We are blessed every day to pray together. I was led by the Lord to pray that morning assuring him that it was going to be all right. Those are not meaningless words. They are words I believe with my whole heart and speak of how God can touch and heal. It is not just the physical pains in our bodies but in all life’s experiences, trials, heartache, and pain. Whatever the situation, it too shall pass, and it will be all right. I can say that because I have seen God turn things around. I know I am not alone. I think of the song “It will be alright in the morning”. Matthew 14:27 is our scripture lesson today.

“But Jesus spoke to them at once. ‘Don’t be afraid,’ He said. ‘Take courage. I am here!’”

In this moving passage of scripture, we see Jesus, the Master Teacher speaking to His disciples. They were in trouble as they fought back heavy waves on the lake. Jesus came towards them walking on the water and they were terrified. However, Jesus assured them that it was going to be all right, “Take courage, I am here.” There are times when we, too, become fearful. Remember that the Master assured His disciples by calming the rushing waves and relieved their fear. What a mighty, awesome, powerful, and loving Lord we serve! Just remember, take courage for the Lord is always nearby.
