If WE Seek Him

The Word of God makes it clear that whenever we seek Him, we shall find Him. It is my prayer today that we will seek Him. When we do, we shall be a recipient of His blessings. What a blessing it is to know that when we seek Him, He will seek us! In fact, He is always seeking us. The question is, why does it take us so long to seek Him? In 2 Chronicles 15:2, we find these words:

“And he went out to meet King Asa as he was returning from the battle. ’Listen to me, Asa!’ he shouted. ’Listen, all you people of Judah and Benjamin! The LORD will stay with you as long as you stay with Him! Whenever you seek Him, you will find Him. But if you abandon Him, He will abandon you.’”

Ezra is the author of these words, and he says that as the king obeyed the Word of God, God blessed him and the people bountifully. Ezra also warned the people that if they abandoned the Lord, He would abandon them. We can see how this verse carries both encouragement and a warning. That caution is still good today. My prayer today is that we are constantly and consistently seeking to follow, to serve, and to love Him. We never want Him to abandon us. In all that we do, we must make sure that He is first in our lives. In all of our ways, we should acknowledge Him and He shall direct our paths.
