How We Grieve

Our hearts are saddened as we see tragedy each and every day. We grieve when
we lose our family members or friends, and we grieve as we look at the tragedies that occur in this chaotic world in which we live. However, we still have hope. We are not in despair. Our hearts may be heavy, but our faith and trust in the Lord assures us that Christ is alive and actively working on our behalf. In 1 Thessalonians 4:13, we find these words:

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.”

The writer encourages believers to have hope. A translation of this could read, ” And now, dear brothers and sisters, May our living Lord grant you His peace and His power.”  Even when we grieve, we must all remember Psalm 30:5 (NKJV), “…weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.”
