HOW TO DEAL WITH THE DEVIL

On Saturday, the devotion was titled Watch out for temptation. Today I want to share how to deal with temptation and the devil. Make no mistake that the devil is at work and is no respecter of persons. He does not care how much you say you love the Lord, and he cares little about how much your life is devoted to the Lord. In fact, you have become his prime target. I have said before that if the devil is not messing with you, then you are not engaged in the Lord’s work. The devil takes great delight in messing with God’s people. We need to know how to deal with him for there is a way. Our scripture reference is found in Ephesians 6:13.

“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.”

In this familiar passage, Paul speaks of putting on the whole armor of God. He indicates that the armor helps you to stand firm against all of the devil’s strategies. He knows that we do not fight against flesh and blood, but evil rulers and authorities in an unseen world. These are mighty powers of Satan! You must stand firm and be on guard, for the devil will come at the most inopportune times. However, he is no match for the power of God. We can deal with the devil by submitting ourselves to God and putting on His full armor. Notice I said full armor of God. Thank God today that we can defeat Satan not by carnal weapons but by the righteous weapons of God.
