HONESTY WITH GOD
It is so important that we are honest with God. God knows our thoughts so there is nothing that we can hide from Him. He knows when we err and when we sin. Nothing is hidden from Him. We can be honest with others, and sometimes we are not. Nevertheless, we must be honest with God and not pretend to be something that we are not. We can acknowledge our stumbling to Him and acknowledge that we need His hand to cleanse us from our unrighteousness. We do not have to live a lie. Just go to Him knowing that He loves us unconditionally. Today’s scripture reference is Psalm 26:6. It speaks of this and reads in this manner:
“I wash my hands to declare my innocence. I come to your altar, O Lord,”
The psalmist declares his innocence, acting with integrity fully aware of God’s unfailing love. He is seeking to live the truth. He wants God to bless him and not to judge him harshly. The psalmist comes before the Lord to declare with his whole heart, mind, and soul, his desire to live honestly with God. He has a song of thanksgiving in his heart he does not want to suffer the fate of sinners. He cries out for the Lord’s mercy. The psalmist knows that God knows him better than he knows himself. He strips himself bare before his Almighty God. Read this psalm and be strengthened today by his testimony. May you always live an honest life before an Almighty God.
