We serve a Holy God, and He is worthy of all our praise. Every contact that we make with God should be done with reverence and humility. We should never come before God any other way than holy. Whenever we gather for worship, our hearts should be filled with gratitude and praise. This is the same way that we should enter our prayer closet, acknowledging His holiness and righteousness. Our worship should be real, sincere, authentic, and pure.  Then, we can truly say that we love the Lord with all our hearts, souls, and minds.  In 1 Samuel 2:2, we find these words:

 “No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.”

In this chapter, Hannah is giving a prayer of praise to the Lord, saying, “My heart rejoices in the Lord! The Lord has made me strong. Now I have an answer for my enemies; I rejoice because you rescued me.”  Hannah has a heart of gratitude, recognizing what only the Holy God has done. While this chapter speaks of the Lord’s holiness, it also speaks of His power. The Word says, “He will protect His faithful ones, but those who fight against the Lord will be shattered.” When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, you will come to understand, as I have, that we serve a powerful, loving, and Holy God.
