HIS WORD WILL NEVER RETURN VOID
The Word of the Lord is strong. It will accomplish that which it sets out to do. You cannot sit under the Word and not be touched at times. I find it amazing that there are those who get upset when they think that I am preaching about them. I have tried to say on more than one occasion that the Word is compared to a two-edged sword and cuts on both sides. That is to say that the Word cuts into me, although I am blessed to bring the Word. None of us is free from the power of the Word. I think, on the other hand that there are those who try their best to tune the Word out, and close their hearts and ears. But, again, the Word will never return void. The scripture lesson is Isaiah 55:11 and reads in this manner:
“It is the same with my Word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”
In this moving passage of scripture, the psalmist speaks on behalf of the Lord. He begins this chapter with an invitation to the Lord’s salvation saying If anyone is thirsty, come and drink. Even if you have no money take choice of wine or milk, it is all free.” He calls on the people to seek the Lord while they can find Him and He is near. The psalmist talks of the power of the Lord’s Word that will produce much fruit and will cause all to prosper everywhere the Word is proclaimed. Read this entire chapter when you get a chance. Prayerfully, the Word has touched you, changed your life and you are no longer the same.
