All of our human intellect and knowledge is insufficient to know everything about God. His ways are not our ways; His thoughts are not our thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9). When we are open to God, He will reveal the things that only He can. I have seen people who had little formal education prosper. Although limited in education, they were wise in God’s Word. Please, do not misunderstand. I believe that we should acquire as much education as possible. However, we should never believe that education alone will give us the wisdom that we need. Some things are hidden —only God can make them clear. In Luke 10:21, we find these words:

“At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, ‘O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.’”

Luke places emphasis on the humble —those who take no pride in themselves are favored by the Lord. Although they might be babes in Christ, they are wise and distinguished from the scribes and Pharisees who were well educated. The truth of God is revealed to those who are humble and open to Him. May we forever stay close to Him so that He might continually reveal words of truth to us.
