Hearing the Voice of the Lord
I have often said that the Lord speaks to me; however, some are not sure that I actually heard the voice of the Lord. I believe with all my heart, that when the Lord speaks to us and no one else believes it, we need to know, without a shadow of a doubt, that the voice that we hear is the Lord’s. Make no mistake that the Lord does speak. Sometimes He speaks in a dream and other times He speaks in the midst of a situation. Whenever He speaks, we must be open to hear His voice. In Isaiah 6:8, we find these words:
“Then I heard the Lord asking, ‘Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?’ I said, ‘Here I am. Send me.’”
The prophet Isaiah indicates clearly that the Lord spoke to him. When the question “whom shall I send?” was asked, Isaiah replied by simply saying, “here I am. Send me.” He did not hesitate, but responded right away to the voice of the Lord. Thank God today for those who hear and respond to the Lord’s call. Every day, He calls men and women to do His work. Thank God today that I heard His voice speak to me. I look back over my life and I know without any doubt that the Lord called me and prepared me for this Christian journey. Praise God today for those who hear and answer His call.
