As a nation, we are much divided. Although we declare that we are “one nation under God,” in many ways, that is far from the truth. It is something we say, but we do not practice. We are divided along political, racial, and economic lines. The list of divisions is numerous. We need healing in the land. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, we find these words:

“’If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.’”

Solomon gives instructions on how we are to receive that healing. We need to humble ourselves, pray and seek God’s face. Then, we will receive God’s mercy and favor. The writer of this deep and profound chapter makes it clear that we will hear from heaven when we turn from our wicked ways. The Lord will heal our land and forgive our sins. Yahweh, our Great God, will bless us when we turn our face toward Him. I ask that you join me in prayer as we pray for our nation. Let us pray for our President, members of the Congress, members of the Senate, Governors, Mayors and all of our Political Leaders. As God’s people, let us turn to God and ask Him for His mercy. He will hear us when we humble ourselves and pray, then He will heal the land.
