The book of psalms is such an inspirational book for those who serve an ever-present God. Turn to one of the psalms whenever you are feeling downcast. Surely, you will be blessed knowing the Lord is our keeper and our helper. Whatever you experience today, cast your eyes upon Psalm 121. It is not a long psalm but one that is full of rich and generous blessings from on high. Our devotion today is taken from this psalm with the emphasis on verse three:

“He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.”

Verse 1 indicates that our help comes from the Lord. He reveals that he will lift up his eyes to the hills, for that is where his help truly comes. In this third verse, he indicates clearly that our foot will not slip for He who keeps us will not slumber. God’s eyes are upon us and there is no need to fear.  As a pilgrim, the psalmist has the assurance he is not alone regardless of the hills he has to climb. Regardless of the danger that may await him he will not fear evil, for he knows the Lord will preserve his going in and going out. God is the only one who never slumbers or sleeps. He is our faithful guardian both day and night. May you be guided by the knowledge that our God will not allow your foot to be moved.
