As I thought about this devotion, given this virus season we are in, I pondered how the Lord knows the hairs on my head. There were times when I had not gotten my usual haircut. So, I just wonder; although some of these hairs are grey, the Lord knows them. In the past, when I have had a haircut, I would see the hairs falling off my head onto the floor. That does not mean that they are not blessed. God’s ways are not our ways: His thoughts not our thoughts. We might not understand everything, but God can take every hair strand and bless it. That is mind boggling and astonishing. I may not be able to comprehend it, but God can. Luke 12:7 is our scripture reference today.

“And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”

In this deep and moving passage, God’s care for His people is revealed. The people are called not to fear the Lord loves them with an everlasting love. Even the very hairs on our head are numbered. He wants His people to know that they are more valuable to Him than the sparrows, and God forgets not a single sparrow. He wants them to be strong, courageous, and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that His tender and loving mercy is with them. The disciples could trust God completely. Prayerfully, we, too, can trust God completely for He knows every detail of our lives. He knows our thoughts and is able to bless us. He knows the minute things about us. Nothing is concealed from Him. May you always know with certainty that He loves everything about you. We give Him praise, glory and honor for loving us with a love that will never let us go.
