He Has Shown US

We cannot say that we do not know what the Lord requires of us. In a world where there is so much division, poverty and ill will, we are called upon by God to extend love and mercy. We have an example from God telling us how to treat His people. In Micah 6:8 we find these words:

“No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”

God has shown us a better way to achieve spirituality than by simply offering material or personal sacrifices. The better way is threefold: be just in our daily lives; be kind to our brothers and sisters; and to walk humbly before God. It is a simplistic life that honors God daily. It has been interpreted by some to mean to live in quiet fellowship with God. It may sound easy, but it requires a great deal
of discipline and spiritual awakening to discern that which is profitable unto God. These are not the standards of the world, but of God. It says nothing about oneself, but rather emphasizes service to God and others. It surpasses saying self-preservation is the first law of nature. God’s standards are higher: loving others, seeking justice and walking with humility. In summary, it is not about us; it never was and never will be. He has shown us a better way to live.
