I have said on many occasions that I am not a skilled writer. However, I must admit that writing these devotions has blessed my heart immensely. I have been inspired, blessed, encouraged, and even convicted by my own words. The Spirit of God flows into my heart and I am reminded that whatever I need God has already given it to me. I wish I could say that I do not worry or become anxious at times; particularly in the times, we are living. I have been blessed to be transparent. That is another reason these devotions have helped me to look at myself. These devotions are not meant to be judgmental or critical, but an opportunity to grow in our faith. Today’s devotion speaks directly to me entitled Grace For Today. Mathew 6:34 is our scriptural reference today.

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

Jesus is clearly speaking of the need to seek the Kingdom of God and He will give you everything you need. Do not be concerned about things that will take place tomorrow, or whether you will have something to eat or wear. He refers to the birds in the air. Surely if God can take care of the birds, He can take care of us. Read this entire chapter. Countless people are worrying about what will happen when they reach a certain age or how their lives will be at that time. Will they be sick? Will they have enough food to eat? Remember God’s grace is sufficient for this day. There is nothing to gain by borrowing tomorrow’s troubles. Rather, thank God for the grace given today. The same grace that woke us up will keep us today, tomorrow, and forever.
