Grace And Peace
These two words, “grace and peace,” are such powerful words that can be used not only as a greeting, but to also identify that we have a relationship with Jesus Christ. When people meet us, they should also come to understand that we are under His grace and peace. In 2 Timothy 1:2 we find these words:
“I am writing to Timothy, my dear son. May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord give you grace, mercy, and peace.”
Paul extended to Timothy these words that came from his own personal experience of receiving God’s mercy and grace. When we greet others with grace and peace, we should have first experienced it ourselves. It should not be a cliché or something that we say just to simply be religious. But it should come from our own experiences. Without the grace and mercy of God, we would be lost. Thank God today that we can say “grace and peace” to others because we have experienced it ourselves.
