GOOD FRIDAY
On this Good Friday, we thank God Almighty for the work that was finished on the
Cross. The work of salvation has been completed. There is nothing else for us to do.
All we can simply say is “Amen.” Amen means, “It is done; it is finished. There is
nothing else to be done.” What a blessing it is to know that the work the Lord started
is now complete. We can rejoice today. The plan of salvation has been completed.
The Master shed His blood on the Cross that we might be saved from sin. Without
the shedding of blood, we would all be lost in our sins. In the Gospel of John 19:30, we find these words:
“When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”
Here, we see the death of Jesus. He said, “I thirst.” Once he received the drink, He spoke the seventh word from the Cross. In a loud voice the Master said, “It is finished.” The Master completed the work He was sent to do. No one took His life. He laid it down, fully, and freely. It is done, all the Glory to God! Thanks be to God; the work is done. Praise God!
