Thank God that His Word cannot fail. Whatever He promises in the Holy Writ, He will deliver. Wait on the Lord and be of good courage (Psalm 27:14). When all else fails, His Word will not. In Joshua 23:15, we find these words:

“But as surely as the LORD your God has given you the good things He promised, He will also bring disaster on you if you disobey him. He will completely destroy you from this good land He has given you.”

Joshua reminds the people to remember all the good things that have come to pass, including the good land that they are now treading upon. He also tells them to remember that they cannot be disobedient, for their disobedience will cause them to lose the help of God. Joshua tells Israel to cherish the remembrance of this in their hearts and in their souls. Prayerfully, we are all standing on the promises of God and are following His will and His way. Remember, we stand in constant need of God’s hand of mercy. In other words, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy path” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
