It is amazing how God can transform lives. He has transforming power. Our God has the power to change hearts, minds, and lives. Many of us can testify to His transforming power because we were deep in sin when the Lord entered in and changed our way of walking, talking, and living. He not only can change lives, he can also change the circumstances we find ourselves in sometimes. What looks dark and bleak to us, He can change to light and hope. He can do all things and do all things well, for His power is incredible. Take a moment to reflect on the wonder working changes He has made in your life. It is utterly amazing what God can do. Colossians 3:10 is our scriptural lesson today.

“Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.”

Paul speaks of living the new life in Christ. He begins with this chapter by saying, “Since you have been raised to a new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.” Paul is aware that with new life comes new power. So, he urges fellow believers to be renewed and transformed by Christ’s power. Throughout this chapter, Paul speaks of what not to do. He continues with the things that we should do. He wants them to clothe themselves with love, tender mercies, to be kind and to walk with humility. He knows God empowers them to live in that manner. This transforming power has been made available to them and they need to walk and live in that power. Get rid of that old nature. I pray that you are living a life that exemplifies that you have God’s transforming power within you.
