GOD’S MOTIVES ARE PURE

Why do we serve God? What is our motive? Do we serve Him because we are you looking for recognition? Are we trying to prove something? If we serve Him with the right motives, God will bless us. God’s motives are pure. Whatever we do should be done for the glory of God, and God will bless us. If we help somebody, we should not do it for recognition, but we should do it for the glory of God. Far too many people do things for the wrong reason. There are some who become upset if they are not recognized for the work they have done. But if we are serving for the right reason, which is for the glory of the Lord, we will not need to have any recognition. Know that God will bless when our motives are right unto God. He will grant us His favor. In James 3:17, we find these words:

But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.”

James indicates that jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, you will find disorder and evil of every kind. He says that if we use Godly motives that are pure, God will bless us, and He will shower His mercy upon us. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter.
