GOD’S MASTER PLAN
God has a plan for all our lives that is pure and true. The same God who created us is the same God who knows the way that we take. The question that confronts us is will we seek to live by God’s Master Plan for our lives. It is tragic when we plan our own lives outside of God’s Will. At the same time, countless people seek to derail God’s plans. For what God has planned for us, no one can stop or hinder. It does not matter whether our lives were cloaked in darkness when we came into this world as a result of family matters, our economic status, or our environment. For it is not where you start but where you finish that counts. Trust God to bring forth the plans He has for you. The scripture lesson for today is Jeremiah 29:11.
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the LORD. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’”
In this moving passage, the prophet Jeremiah speaks to God’s people as they are being released from captivity. They are to build homes, stay and plant gardens, and eat the fruit they produce. They are to pray. They are encouraged not to let those in the land of Babylon trick them with deceit. They will be in Babylon for seventy years before the Lord delivers them. He has a plan for their lives. Their current captivity will not always be. They are just to remain faithful unto God. When you get a chance read those powerful words. You might feel as though your destiny is to live beneath your dreams. Nevertheless, God has promised us that He will ultimately give to us that which He has planned for our lives. I know that to be true. There was a time in my life when I was in exile. God brought me out. In addition, I know I am not the only one. God has done it for me and will do it for everyone who trusts and believes in Him.
