God’s Invitation

God has granted us a wonderful invitation to come to Him. He promises water and bread that satisfies to all who are hungry and thirsty.  Even in the times of trials and tribulations, we will find rest for our souls. He will extend to us His abundant grace and power. He will bless those who are weary and worn. In Isaiah 55:1, we find these words:

“’Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk—it’s all free!’”

The prophet Isaiah knows the blessings of God well. He makes his plea to those who thirst: wine and milk are the symbols of a life with God. To everyone who thirsts, the power of God is available. There is a song  we sing that says, “I heard the voice of Jesus say,  ‘Come unto me and rest; lay down, thy weary one, lay down thy head upon My breast.’”  I am a witness that when we accept God’s invitation, He gives us more than we can imagine. Accept His invitation today and live. Do not spend  time on things of little value. It is my prayer today, that we will all accept God’s gracious invitation to come to Him.
