God’s Fragrance
Have you ever been around someone who has the fragrance of God in their lives? The Spirit of Christ almost causes you to lose your breath. His Spirit is so inviting as His presence fills the room. The conversation, demeanor, humility and passion of the individuals possessing God’s fragrance cause you to want to develop a relationship with them. It is a blessing to be in the presence of godly men, women and youth who emanate His beauty and holiness. In 2 Corinthians 2:15, we find these words:
“Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing.”
Paul speaks of this glowing experience when one has an encounter with Christ. The aroma is like the incense from an altar that rises to God from surrendered lives. It gives God satisfaction when “we are not ashamed of the gospel” as the author of Romans 1:16 writes. This fragrance changed Paul’s life. As disciples of Christ, may our fragrance rise up to God in a way that everyone may have a true understanding of Christ.
