GOD’S Compelling Power
God’s compelling power has brought us unto Himself. Our lives have been enhanced because of the love of God. The love of Christ has lifted us from the shackles of sin, and we have been set free to live eternally with Him. God gave His only beloved Son to die on the cross that we might be saved. His death was voluntary, no one took His life: He laid it down on our behalf. But through the mightiness of God, He arose from the dead with all power in His hands. What love He has for us! In 2 Corinthians 5:14, we find these words:
“Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life.”
Paul makes it clear that Christ died for all. The fact that Paul uses the word “all” is an indication that through faith all can receive His compelling love. Paul also makes it clear that Christ died not just to save them from sin and judgment, but to equip them to be useful servants. We are compelled to share our love with others as Christ shared His love with us.
