GOD’S ABUNDANCE
As I write this devotion I reflect on yesterday’s devotion titled, God’s Provision. In
that devotion, the Lord reminded us to remember what He has done. Today’s
devotion follows on the heels of that. God has an abundance of blessings that never
run out. God has blessed us in the past and is able to bless us now and in the future.
It is amazing that God has such rich abundance. It’s hard for us to comprehend. No
matter how much we have accumulated, the fact remains that the blessings are
never depleted.
In II Corinthians 9:8, we see Paul speaking of God’s abundance:
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always
having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:”
Paul says that God likens generous giving to abundant spiritual
prosperity. The result of this is complete God-given sufficiency,
not for selfish enjoyment, but for the work of the kingdom. God
loves a cheerful giver and honors those who have faith enough to
believe that He will meet all of their needs. We cannot limit Gods’ lavishness on us
with just the material gifts that He gives us. He gives us a spiritual fulfillment that
surpasses any material blessing. Thanks be to God for His abundant love.
