It is utterly amazing how God loves us. His compassion never ends. He never forgets to bless, provide, and care for us. We may forget Him, and we often do, but thanks be unto God that He never turns His back on us. He is always there for us, just when we need Him. Others will soon forget us, especially during a long journey of illness or trouble. But God never leaves us alone. He does not remember our sins, but always remembers us in love. In Isaiah 49:15, we find these words:

“Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!”

The prophet’s portrayal of God’s forgiveness reaches the loftiest level in scripture. It rises higher than a mother’s tenderness and penetrates deep into the heart. As a mother cares for her newborn, so God cares for us. Oh, what great love He has for us that He knows each one of us and His love extends to us all! May we all be strengthened with the knowledge that God loves us and He will never forget us.
