GOD WILL FORGIVE SIN
Thanks be unto God that by His grace and mercy, He forgives sin. We all need that forgiveness, for we all sin. Let me say that again. We all need His forgiveness, for we all sin. Some of our sins are not just in our past before we came to Christ, some of them are current. We sin on a daily basis. Sin cannot be categorized. Greed is sin. Jealousy is sin. The list of the sins we commit are too numerous to record in this devotion. The blessing is that we serve a forgiving God. The scripture reference is Psalm 130:4:
“But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you.”
The psalmist begins this psalm by crying out for help. He pleads with the Lord to hear His prayer. He says, “If you kept a record of our sins, none of us could survive.” He continues saying that the Lord offers forgiveness that we might learn to reverence, honor and fear Him. The psalmist puts his hope and trust in the Lord. The psalmist knew of his sinful nature, but he has the full assurance of God’s forgiveness that is offered unto Him. Prayerfully, you are grateful that God is there to forgive you of all your sins: not a portion of your sins, but all your sins. Praise God for His ever-present forgiveness.
