God Knows those who are Faithful

We sing the song “Faithful Is Our God” and we know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that God is faithful. God has not called us to be successful, but He has called us to be faithful. Whatever gifts and talents God has given us, we must use them to His glory. We must remain faithful even when things in our lives are not going well. Many of us can remain faithful when things are well, but the test of our faithfulness comes when things are not so well. But when we are faithful, God will bless us even in the lean times of our lives. In Matthew 25:21, we find these words:

“The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!”

Here we see this marvelous story about those who were blessed with talents; God was pleased with those who used the various talents they were given. We see in the verse above how the Master responded to them. But as you continue reading the story, notice, in verse 24, that one person received only one talent. Instead of using the talent, he hid it, which resulted in him losing it, because God took it away from him. It does not matter how many talents we have, we must be faithful with what God has given us. Prayerfully, today, we are faithful servants who use every gift God has given us. We should do all that we can for the glory of God in order to hear the Master say, “Well done thy good and faithful servant.”
