It is utterly amazing how we make plans for our life and never consult God. We plan “meaningful” things only to find that our plans did not work. Things happen to derail our plans and we feel that our lives are ruined. Some our troubles have become life’s blessings. “All things work together for good to them that love the Lord.” This scripture does not mean that all things are good. Nevertheless, good can turn our sorrows around and make something good from them. Past roadblocks have become the source of many of our blessings. It is good to know that God knows every detail of our life and plans for us to prosper and to do good. That is the essence of His love for us. We find our scripture reference in Jeremiah 29:11:

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

This passage leaps into our hearts from the pages of God’s Word. To think that God knows our thoughts is beyond our comprehension. The prophet Jeremiah is aware of the Lord’s goodness toward him. He writes of the need to know that when we seek the Lord, we shall find Him. The Lord’s love is extended to the people that they might know assuredly that God’s desire is that they do good and not evil. The people are to build houses and live in them, plant gardens, eat the produce, take wives and have children. The people are to find strength in exile and call on the Lord in prayer. The Lord will restore their fortunes and return the land to them. Reading this chapter reveals how God assured them. He knew the way they would take and He had plans for their lives. May you know, too, beyond any doubt, that God knows the path that you take and that ultimately His desire is for you to do good and to be blessed.
