God Is In Control
We sometimes grieve when we look at the devastation, crime and ungodliness in the world. There are those who wonder where God is. How could a loving God create such a world in turmoil? The devil is wreaking havoc, running wild and is out of control. Nevertheless, praise God today that no matter what we see, hear, or think, God is in control. Our God never slumbers nor sleeps. We must be mindful that the violence, racism and murder we see is outside of His will. God is love. He does not force Himself upon us, but He gives us a choice. But, know that when our sovereign God gets ready to speak, He speaks with the final word. When He speaks, the wind and the rain obey His voice. When He speaks, the world will listen to His command. In 2 Corinthians 4:4, we find these words:
“Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.”
Paul sees the world as a battleground in which Satan and his hosts contend with God and His forces against the lives of people. Paul is confident that God reigns and rules and that the preaching of God’s gospel cannot be hidden. May we all be strengthened today with the knowledge that God has all power in His hands. We are victorious, because we are on God’s side.
