GOD IS GOING TO DO SOMETHING NEW
Each day God sends forth new mercies, not recycled mercies or leftover mercies, but new mercies. Each day God is going to do something new in our lives. We have reason to give Him fresh praise. We stand on tiptoe waiting for God to do something new in our lives. What a wonderful way to live with these expectations. When you live this way, life is wonderful, because God is always there to grant to us the desires of our heart and provide new blessings. Today’s scripture reference is found in Psalm 5:3 and reads.
“Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to You and wait expectantly.”
With full confidence, the psalmist calls on the name of the Lord early in the morning. He brings His requests to the Lord, knowing that God will grant his requests. The psalmist waits eagerly for God to do a new thing. As he prays in the midst of his tears of sorrow, he does not pray without hope, for his hope is in God. God is the center of his life and he knows that there is fulfillment and joy for those who call on the name of the Lord. Therefore, every day starts by telling God all he stands in need of. Listen to the heart of the psalmist as you read this entire chapter. The psalmist concludes with the assurance that God blesses the godly and surrounds them with His love.
