GOD INHABITS THE PRAISES OF HIS PEOPLE

It is a blessing to praise God. He loves it when His people praise Him. As you read this devotion, prayerfully, you love to praise God with your lips, heart and entire being. I love the words of the song, ‘Let my life praise you.” Those words resonate in my heart. More than anything, I want my entire being to praise God. He is pleased when we praise Him. Something about praise honors God and blesses us. It is a two-fold blessing. We are better when we praise God. The scripture reference is Psalm 22:3 and reads in this manner:

“Yet You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.”

In this moving passage, the psalmist acknowledges the holiness of God. He begins by expressing his pain, feeling that God has abandoned him. Yet he still calls on the Lord night and day. Although he begins with pain throughout these verses, he offers praise unto God “I will praise you in the great assembly. I will fulfill my vows in the presence of those who worship you.” The psalmist knows that God has not abandoned him. However, he does not stay in that state for he is blessed as he praises God. Even when you feel like the psalmist, that God is not near, draw near to Him and give Him praise. He inhabits the praises of His people. In due time, God will honor your praise and bless you with what you stand in need of. Nothing is to be gained by complaining, but plenty to be gained by praising.
