GOD CAN USE WHAT IS BAD FOR GOOD
It is amazing when we look back at our life and see how God turned some things around. If we are honest, there are some experiences we have gone through that were really bad, but ultimately God brought something good from it. Many of us would not be in the place we are with God, now if we did not have some of those experiences. Some of the people who caused us pain or sought our demise were really doing us a service. They were of the impression they were doing us a disservice with all their plotting and scheming, but God used them for His glory and our edification. We know the scripture says, “All things work together for good to them that love the Lord”. It does not mean that bad things are good, but it does mean God can bring something good out of bad things. Look at our story today, which is a familiar story found in Genesis 50:20:
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.”
This is an unbelievable story of how Joseph went through turmoil, grief, pain, and heartache but ultimately how he relied upon God. He did not become angry or seek revenge. God used his brothers’ evil, for good. The entire story of Joseph records that he did not waver in his faith in God or desire revenge. Rather he allowed God to work on his behalf. What a lesson for each of us to learn! It provides practical living because if we live long enough we will have something happen that is bad. But, thanks be unto God, no matter how bad things may be, He can bring something good out of it. Instead of complaining, just allow God to do what He will, and know that the story is not over until God says it is over, and the ending will be better than the beginning.
