In a sermon I once preached entitled, “There Are No Self-Made People,” I shared how God carried Israel out of bondage from the land of Egypt. The people did nothing on their own. I indicated that whatever blessings we receive come from God. God has a way of interceding on our behalf and bringing us to Himself. In Exodus 19:4, we find these words:

“You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.”

The power of God is seen here. In this story, we find that Moses went before the Lord who called to him out of the mountain to speak to the house of Jacob. The Lord told Moses to tell the children of Israel what He had done. God and God alone blessed them, and it is He alone who blesses us. Whatever we have is from God. Whatever we will be is because of God, because He is in charge. Thank God today that He continues to bring us to Himself, blessing us with what we need! Give God praise!
