GOD BLESSES US SO THAT WE MIGHT BLESS OTHERS
Today’s devotion reminds us that God does not simply bless us for ourselves. He blesses us to share our blessings with others. It is tragic that many receive God’s blessings and fail to share them. Take a moment now and look back on how God has blessed you. Be honest. Have you been willing to bless others? Do you hoard His blessings in secret? These are soul-searching questions. What do you do with the gifts God has given you? How do you share them with others? I Timothy 1:14 is our scripture lesson today.
“Oh, how generous and gracious our Lord was! He filled me with the faith and love that come from Christ Jesus.”
Paul expresses gratitude for God’s mercy. God has anointed him as trustworthy and appointed him to serve Him. Paul shares his blessings with the people that have been entrusted to his care. He recognizes that the Lord has been generous to him and Paul must share the Lord’s grace and mercy with others. He calls himself the sinner of all sinners. He has a story to tell and a God to glorify. Paul cannot keep it to himself and wants others to know of God’s mercy and love. Dig deep into this powerful testimony of Paul’s. As God has blessed you, bless others by telling them what God has done in your life. We can thank God for so many things. Consequently, we can share so many blessings with others. The list is too long to include in this devotion. We have so many reasons to share God’s blessings with others. Prayerfully, that is what you do every day.
