GOD ANSWERS PRAYER

In 2 Kings 20, we see how God answers prayer.  Hezekiah had been deathly ill and received a message from the Lord through Isaiah telling him that he was not going to recover from this illness. Hezekiah immediately turned his face to the wall and began to pray. The Lord heard Hezekiah’s prayer, and gave another message to Isaiah, telling him this time that he would be healed.   We need to know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that when we pray, God does hear and will answer our prayers. No matter what the enemy tries to do to us, no matter what life-threatening issues we are dealing with, when we pray, there is power. God will bless His people when they come to Him in prayer. In 2 Kings 20:5, we find these words:

“Go back to Hezekiah, the leader of my people. Tell him,
‘This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you, and three days from now you will get out of bed and go to the Temple of the Lord.”

Isaiah spoke to Hezekiah, delivering the Word of the Lord. To ensure that the Lord would do as He promised, Hezekiah asked for a sign, and that was to have the shadow on the sundial move ten steps backward. Not only was Hezekiah healed as God promised, but the shadow on the sundial moved ten steps backwards, just like Hezekiah asked God to do! When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. It is a reminder to us that God does hears and answers prayer!
